I’ve always loved cooking for people
I’m a bit slow at getting this web thing going so bear with me for more recipes! Next up are: Kichi, Undhiyo, Sprouted Mung Bean and Mango Salad and so much more!
I don’t have fancy photos like you’d find in a glossy magazine. What you see is what you get when you’re just in the flow of cooking in your kitchen.
My name is Pratibha Rajani and I’m a foodie. I love cooking and feeding my family. I learned to cook from my parents, grand parents and extended family (there’s a lot of us!) and since then I’ve experimented with recipes of my own and tweaked those handed down to me through the generations.
I hope you enjoy the dishes I share with you here. The real reason I created this site though, is to share family favourites with my daughters and grand-daughter.
What is Ras and what is Rotli I hear you ask. Well, it’s my daughters favorite comfort food. Ras is the pulp of a mango (alphonso’s are the best) that is blended to create a smooth ‘ras’. Rotli is otherwise known as chapati or roti and is a thin bread cooked on the stove top. We dip the rotli into the ras and it makes for an amazing sweet and savoury summer treat. No rogue ingredients, just natural flavours from India and Africa.
